Day 3 (from Stratton, CO)

We're here in Colorado! But, it was mostly all about Kansas today, a big, wide, long stretch of real estate that never seems to end. It was beautiful, though!! Gorgeous farmland and rolling hills. We did our customary stopping at the rest area to take a picture of the state sign, after a slow, leisure start to the day...

We stopped for a long break in Abilene, Kansas, so Kathy could get her antique fix and I could get my history fix. The boys (and Clover) are having a great time. Kathy said that the car thermometer read 110 degrees for most of the afternoon!! Here's a pic at the Eisenhower center (his boyhood home)...

And a restored grave marker in old historic Abilene town..

Finally, about 7 PM MST (we crossed that in the last county of Kansas), we crossed into Colorado. Lord willing, we'll press on in to Denver tomorrow!! We've logged about 1500 miles in two cars since Saturday morning! I'm going to bed.
